HAZELNUT LOAF
A couple of cups of sugar, flour and hazelnuts later and you got yourself a yummy and not too sweet cake for your afternoon tea, or as we like to call it here "Kaffee & Kuchen" :)

3 Eggs

1 1/2 Cups of ground hazelnuts

1 1/2 Cups of flour

1 cup of buttermilk

1/2 cup of normal milk

1 cup of sugar
-
1 Tsp Baking powder

1 Tsp Baking soda

1 Tsp of Vanilla Extract

1/2 cup of chocolate chips

1. separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until they start to form stiff peaks.

2. In a Separate bowl, using a mixer, blend the egg yolks and the sugar until you get a pale pink mixture.

4. in another bowl mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and hazelnuts together. Then add about half of the mixture to the egg yolks.
​
5. add the buttermilk and mix. then add the remaining dry ingredients to the mix and blend well.
​
6. add the milk and the vanilla extract to the mixture.
​
7. Fold in the egg whites.
​
8. Lastly, add the chocolate chips.
​
9. in a loaf tine (lined with a baking sheet) pour in the mixture.
​
10. bake for 45 minutes. You can always test if the cake is done by poking in a skewer!
